These last few weeks, I have been digging deep in Kelly Minter’s most recent bible study All Things New. Now this is not a Christmas Bible study but the truth I read earlier this week fit neatly into this Christmas season. Kelly Minter wrote, ” We can’t be put side by side against the goodness and purity of God without our sin being exposed when up against the bank statement. “But when it comes to our sinful and broken lives needing to be reconciled to God’s perfect standard we discover something altogether astounding here!” In this particular study, we read 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 ” And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.” I instantly saw the connection here. And I praise God for His Perfect gift! I thank God that my sin is reconciled. I thank God that I have a Savior.
We are Reconciled
Our sin is reconciled through the Jesus Christ. We are reconciled back to our Heavenly Father. No longer are we separated from our loving Father. We were given the perfect gift through the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We can shout for joy! Meditate on this goodness or share the Good News with others around us. Christ’s birth was the defining moment for humanity. The perfect gift we could ever receive in this life was the precious gift of our King, Jesus.
The Perfect Gift
The Son of God. Our Prince of Peace. Emmanuel. Wonderful Counselor. Mighty God. Everlasting Father. Jesus. He is our Perfect Gift. The gifts we open this December 25th are nothing compared to the ultimate gift we received. Let’s remember the reason we celebrate Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
